Head Light.......PIAA.....????
Saturday I ended my ride in the dark on the way home for about 1 hour. It's the longest I've rode the Hyper at night. Since I was was the one knowing the quickest way back, I was in front of my riding buddies. I just gotta say that the head light really sucks on this bike. I was a big shadow in front of my friend's bike. Even when my high beam was on. I need a brighter light. All 3 of my ridding buddies have PIAA bulbs on their bikes. I know I need an H4, but not sure what one to get. I do NOT want a blue tinted one. I have PIAA bulbs in my Jeep that have blue tips on them, but they don't have that blue tint when lit. This IS what I want. White, NOT blue. I just don't remember what ones they are. They are white when lit. Does anyone know or have a PIAA bulb on their Hyper? Did it make a difference? And, what one should I get? I was looking at the PIAA H4's and there are 3 or 4 different ones.
Thanks

I have the PIAA GTX H4 bulb and it is really was a good improvement over the stocker. The tip of the bulb is painted purple, but the light is white.

I bought it as a single bulb from Chaparral for $49. I know Steve at Pinit Motorsports in Salinas has one in his display case.

I use the Silverstar Ultra's. Same brightness as the PIAA's, half the price, annoys my friends when I ride behind them...

I went and put HID in mine and would highly recommend it. Was able to get one for only $40 shipped a guy that was importing them on another forum, ballast and bulb. It is BRIGHT white...almost too bright...but I love it.

I've put Silverstars in my Jeep and the F350 before I traded it - they'll be going in the Duc probably tomorrow if the local parts place has the H4 in stock.

See my sig. PERFECT light w/o going to true HID. Much, much better than the stock crapper. I picked up a pair on ebay for like $90, can't hurt to have a spare.

I've got the Silverstar Ultra, and while its better your still limited by the stock lens and reflector, which seems to have sacrificed function for form in its design. Just look at the pattern. I'm leaning toward going the aux light route, with the small PIAA 1100X lights tucked under the frame sliders. Three points of light is much better for daytime visability and at night you could loose the headlight and it wouldn't matter much.
