got my 08 HYM!! Couple of ?'s
Sup Guys,
I Traded my Husky 510 SM and some money for it but,
I am stoked!! Bike rides great and looks even better!!!
I do have several ?'s though.....
DO the HYM have a RED service key? How many key's do the bike come with?
What RPM's are you guys crusing at. I am around 3500 for just nice cruising speeds??
BIGGEST QUESTION OF THE YEAR I THINK IS
Bike recommends premium fuel right? Well what happens when someone prior to your pumping pumped regular fuel into their car, then you go press the premium fuel button and start fueling your bike. Most bikes only take 1 - 2 Gallons of gas. Will the 1 - 2 gallons of gas coming out of the gas pump have premium or maybe will it have some left over regular in the line??? So maybe we are not even able to put premium unless it was already pumped prior with premium?? Understand what I mean? let me know what you all think about this??
Thanks

Welcome and congrats....
No red key, but there should have been a card with a code on it. This will allow the dealer to make new keys.
I never worried about the gas and can't really imagine a problem. I would even run reg unleaded in a pinch....as long as you don't have high compression pistons in the motor (non stock).

I received two standard black keys and a plastic card when I purchased my HM- no red key, though. Nice cruising at @3500 RPM seems about right. Not an expert w/ the gas pump situation, but it seems like it wouldn't raise any red flags w/ a little bit or regular making its way into the tank before the premium.

congrats.
yeah I wondered about the red key too since the dealer marked that off as delivered on the checklist. I thought I lost or misplaced it. Turns out it was just a lazy dealer checking things off on the list that they didn't really do. I had to go back and get my manuals too. sheesh.
now go get a good t-handle metric hex set and make sure all your fasteners are tight and start reading the old threads here like I did.
(oh yeah and to save you some time on first mods, open clutch cover from speedymoto or shift-tech and frame sliders from motovationusa.com - LOL)

I want a loud exhaust before i get the loud clutch cover lol
I also want to get carbon everywhere and the DP race seat....
I just hope I dont have the tranny lock up or idle issue others have been....

Picked up my HM-S two weeks ago from SoCal Ducati, two black keys and a code card, no red key here either. Clearly some tech just ticked off all the boxes on my set-up sheet also without really checking the stuff. Read the hardware post/thread. Its junk and the hex heads round off like a white mans eyeballs! Check the battery thread also. I'm going with the Speedymoto sliders, Termi 2-1, DP steering damper, CF hugger for sure, (just have to find time to install) then ride the crap out of it. If you ride MX, you will love this bike just the way it is, if you're a picky road guy, then you may want some other mods. Congrats and good luck.

most of the gas stations where i live have 3 seperate pumps for each type of gas. I received 2 black keys and a keycode card and i dont cruise on the bike it usually gets rode every other saturday between the hours of 9am-8pm for about 400 miles. (note: im not being sarcastic about this.)
