Difference between Corsa 3s and Rossos?
Can anyone give me an update on the difference between Pirelli Corsa 3s and the Rosso models. Looking for something that lasts a little longer without giving up much performance. Don't want to sacrifice my arse for longer wear or any handling. I like the light weight of the Corsa 3s. Very minimal if any track usage, mostly road miles and some mountain carving around the Gap. Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

As far as tyres go, I like round ones, black, with a hole in the middle.
Original Pirelli's were sheite in the wet, Michy 2CT's have my vote so far but I wait for others to experiment with the Rosso's.

i love the corsa 3's but my last bike had pilot powers- awesome and ok in the wet. if the corsa3's are crap in the wet i'll get pp's or power 2ct's next.
i had metzeler m3's ( same compound as rosso's ) but didnt like them at all.

I have run both the corsa III's and Rosso's on my HM on the street and at the track... I loved both tires and they are both more than capable of handling street/track riding. I honestly couldn't tell any difference between them, other than the corsa III's maybe felt a little stickier towards the end of the day. I think the best combo is running a Corsa III up front and a Rosso out back. I was running that combo for a few months until I ran over a nail and took out the Rosso. Now I'm running both Corsa III's but I will most likely switch back to Rosso's for the fall.

My friend ran Corsa 3's on his CBR1000RR at Talladega GP last weekend and after 115 miles (one trackday) the rear will not pass tech for another. Tally is almost all left-hand turns so it causes uneven wear, but he also said he wasn't spinning the rear, this was only his third track session, and his tire still wore out. I can't afford such rubber.

Try the new Dunlop D211GP's in the Medium-Hard compound.

I've noticed that my RC51 is gentler on Corsa IIIs than the HM. But I am a Pirelli guy-thus, Corsa IIIs for me until they destroy the mold!

I've gotten 4-5 track days out of a DCIII rear. I've also burnt up a pilot race in a morning session because my rear shock needed rebuilt. Premature wear on the track mostly has to do with suspension setup, improperly set air pressures, and poor throttle imput.
I've been on similar fast tracks with primarily right handers (summit point) and still were able to get 4-5 days out of a rear DCIII.
If the original poster doesn't do many track days, I'd recommend a sport touring rear tire. You can get about as much mileage as a supersport front. I am currently using a bridgestone BT-021. It is a dual compoud tire and matches the profile of the stock BT-014 front pretty well. I did the same thing on my previous TLR with metzelers. I have a friend who rides a Gixxer 1000 that uses pirelli diablo stradas on the street with some fast riding without any complaints.
I havn't had any problems with traction with the BT-021 so far, but I do have a dedicated track bike that uses DCIII's. So, I oviously wouldn't use a sport touring tire on the track.
