Ducati = worst owners manual ever
I won't go into my entire rant of all the useful things that every other motorcycle maker includes in their manuals but that Ducati does not...
For now, I just need to know one thing.
I put on my Zard Top Gun slipon from Desmoworks. Very nice system, and will be even louder when I add the new headers and get rid of the cat...
So I opened up the airbox with the 2" hole saw, and slapped in the new ECU. the 708b I think it is. It is the one that came with a Termi slipon system. Brand new, in the box.
Bike fires up and seems to run ok, although I need the dealer to reset the TPS and synch the throttle bodies, set the trim, etc...
But when I turn it on, it says it is the EU model, and everything is in metric. Like the speedo is in kph, the odo is in km, the oil temp is in Celsius.
Needless to say, that here in the states, this will not do!
So I consult my manual, and all it tells you how to do is set the time.
Not a single word about setting it to miles instead of metric.
Can anyone help me, or is this something that you have to do from the dealer with their little diagnostic box?
Help! LOL
I wanted to ride the bike to work tomorrow but have no idea how fast I am going. haha

You'll have to ship your bike back to Italy to reflash your speedo...
or, you can follow this link and do it yourself How to switch display from EUR to USA?

At least it is equally useless in all 6 languages in which it is printed (or is it just the George Bush section that's useless?).

I still have to have the TPS reset, throttle bodies synched and trim set, but I rode the bike to work so my tuner can set the suspension up for me.
Bike sounds great. Runs fine, although I can tell it is a little off. But the midrange pepped right up.
It power wheelies in second very easily now, just roll on the throttle. Before, I had to whack the throttle and sometimes give it a little tug.
So I am impressed that it gave that much of a power increase already, and having it tuned tomorrow at the dealer should help even more.
I can't wait to get the full race headers and a power commander and have my tuner work his magic.

Huey and magic? Scares me
As for the manuals - I've got the rear soft bag from DP and I absolutely love the solid black pictures!
