Whats my best fueling option? Parts needed...
I will start off with I am slightly budget minded individual. Not cheap, just frugal, with this I am trying to figure out the best option for fueling on my HyperMotard.
Its a 2008 Hypermotard that I will be putting a Full Quat-D 2-1 exhaust system, BMC filter (came with the exhaust), and the DP airbox lid.
I have toyed with putting the cams in especially given the price of the ECU by itself, but atleast $500 to get the cams possibly a $1000 if i have the shop install them seems a bit excessive.
So which ECU should I get? the 208B, 708B, do I need a PowerCommander as well? Is the Rapid bike really worth the $800? I hear alot of conjecture back and forth between the systems.
Thoughts?
Parts for sale?

I say find a Dp ECU on the cheap, like from a member or eBay. Once you get rid of the stock ECU, you can then add a Power Comander if needed and tune for whatever configuration you can come up with.

Makes sense, which ECU to get though?
208B (Cams ECU, 18% richer)
708B (Exhaust ECU, 8% richer)
What kind of fuel mileage should I expect, after installing these?

708B should be adequate if that's the one that comes with the Termi 2-1. You will have to reset your TPS and ideally, synch your throttle bodies and adjust your fuel trim. Your mileage will be in the range of 35 to 45 mpg, depending on how you ride. If you need help with this, let me know.

Thanks Dukepilot,
I am sure your help with this would be invauable, and the beer later would be on me.
Now where to find a a DP ECU...
Do you think you could run the DP cams with a 708B ECU and a PC?

Dude, who buys a Ducati and ten worries about gas mileage? LOL
Either ECU will work, but the CAMS ECU probably also plays with the ignition timing, so I would go with the other one if you do not have the cams.
I have the slipon ECU and will end up building a full exhaust kit. I will add the power commander and dial it in perfect on a dyno.

Hey Man,
More fuel runs = less ride time
Can anyone verify the theory that the Cams ECU changes the ignition map?
Does the Slip-on ECU make it an open loop system(bypasses the lambda sensor)?

All of the DP ECU's make it an open sysem and disable the O2 sensor.

Yes, you could, in fact some have found this to be a good setup. The DP ECU that comes with the cam kit does have a little more ignition advance dialed in. How much, I don't know. If you get a RB3, instead of the PC, you will be able to alter the ignition map later if you want. You can do the same thing with the PC but it will require purchase of an additional gizmo.

Two 96518708Bs (2-1 Termi ECU) were just on ebay, I won one a few days ago and another ended just last night. None listed for a few weeks and then boom, two. Keep looking. A lot of guys get the 2-1 kit, then the cam kit, and no longer need the 2-1 ECU, which should be fine.
