1st Service
I have about 1200 miles on my hyper s. I didnt do the 1st service because my dealer is busy(which is good). To the people that have had a 1st service, what is done? I was told not to exceed 1500 miles if possible. Any help would be great.

I am in the exact spot as you. The only thing that is important is to change that oil ASAP! It still has all the break-in metals.

is it safe to go to synthetic after the first service?
Generally its better to wait until the engine wears a little before switching to synth.

Synthetic, all the way
I had the dealer (Wagner) do the first service while they were centering the TPS and syncing the throttle bodies (I added the full Termi 2 into 1). The service tech told me that Ducatis come from the factory with synthetic oil and that synthetic is what Ducati recommends.
I had to bend over for 4 liters of $16/l Motorex 15w-50...
Get that oil out of there ASAP, it was installed at the factory, last year, when your ride was liberated from Italy!!

If you're going to do the oil change, make sure that you check the screen...could be some metal bits in there the first change or two.

a little below the clutch cover area. it's covered with a 14mm (?) hex.
you'll probably have to loosen/remove the horizontal pipe to get it out.

Thanks for the Oil Change "how too". Btw will changing my own oil void my warranty?
