evap canister

anyone know the effect of removing the evap canister from an 1100s?
I have heard some owners have done that.

you get a better looking bike if you remove it

it's a california emmisions thing, so that Ducati has a 50 state moto, rather than a 49 state moto

Give it a try and report back the effect... I did this and have since developed a stalling condition in addtion to the good looks. Some others seem to have reported similar effects, but it's yet to be determined if the stalling is simply an acquired thing after x number of miles, or if it might be due to removing the canister.

are the holes in the manifolds a straight metric thread? i took out the fittings and silver soldered them shut, but would like to change them out for some regular bolts.
