suggestion for front pads for HMS
did a track based riding course yesterday-lot of fun but i dont really like hearing the front brake "chirp" at high speed.
I'm after a "lesser" set of pads. The EBC ones are also sintered so I'm not sure if they'll be same ( same friction rating HH). I dont like the abruptness of the current setup- in the wet might be a real handful.I did the cable tie thing last night- a bit better.
Ideas? ( other than 'learn to use the front brake')
Oh, the bike was tops at the track- blown away by 1048,848,R1's etc down the straight but surprisingly quick on the corners- even with me on it!
I bloody love this bike-cant stop looking at it!

Oh, thanks to all who wrote stuff on suspension setup here ( esp Ghezzi)- mine is heaps more compliant now I've dialled in the right dynamic sag and set the comp/rebound to suit me- all softer than stock.

I had an issue with my front brakes from early on, initiall problem was pumping up if you brake twice for a corner, there was a definite increase in power with less travel on the second squeeze. We also noticed pulsating at lower speeds due to warped disc/s, it took forever for new discs and pads to arrive by which time the pulsing was very noticable at high speed.
With the new discs and pads there was a totally different feel, progressive but VERY STRONG without the savage initial bite I had been accustomed to.
Pads were Brembo for 1098S, I posted part # somewhere on another brake thread.
Front master cylinder was replaced at 12,000klm service but the two squeeze pump up still persists, but not as bad.
Might install one way bleeder nipples and give it a frequent freshen up.

i have the same low speed issue-but theres no pulsation through the lever-I'll get them to have a look at it when it goes in for its first service.I mean , theyre ok but i had more confident stopping with the aprilia sxv 550 and the husky 610's.
Pretty poor if it needs new discs from new.anyway, we'll see what happens.

'Basic set-up' and 'Marzocchi's, all bling and full of crap'.
Reading that lot will keep you entertained for hours.
Quick tip. Change fork oil to 5w, this gets rid of all the harshness which is due to too much high speed compression damping, it's cheaper than new cartridges.
See a good suspension technician to set your bike up for you, how you ride and where you ride, so it feels good to you. My settings are for me. I'm happy

Off the top of my head search for Race Tech, Lindeman Engineering or Dan Kyle - not 100% sure where they're all lcated exactly. I'll check on my board later and see who is out there for sure in SoCal.
