Ohlins Steering Damper Fitted

Hi Guys,
As those of you that fitted the DP steering Damper didn't seem to rate it I thought I would try to fit an Ohlins. I have used this now for over 1000 miles and it seems to work fine. I was thinking that I was going to have to make up a fitting kit but after a bit research and checking found that the fittings on the Monster S4R are very similar. The problem is no one seemed to sell a separate fitting kit without damper. Eventually I found that Arrow would sell the fiiting kit on its own, so I took the gamble of buying one. I found that it fitted pretty good, all I needed was a couple of spacers, no major messing about. You do need a bracket for the Ohlins damper that allows it to fit pointing vertically, this is needed to line up with Arrow brackets and for clearance as well. See enclosed picture. I am fairly happy with the results and feel it lokks almost factory fitted.

No Slappers Just Cautious

Hi Don,
Thanks for comments. I have not had any slappers on the Hyper, but having experienced a couple of real scary ones in the past that nearly had me off on other bikes, as a precaution now I prefer having a damper fitted. I am using very little damping on it to be honest. When I tested a Hyper last year I got the impression that if you pushed hard on the bumpy roads around here, it would slap.
