Does DP flywheel require modification?

Has anyone installed or had a dealer install the DP flywheel? My dealer is telling me it won't fit.

It should fit fine. It is in the Hyper specific DP catalog. I have one, but have not yet installed it.

The tech is saying it hits the starter gear and it does not fit. They called Ducati and Ducati said they weren't aware of it.

The only modification it needs is to be sent to Nichols for proper lightening...

or, simply start out with the nichols ally flywheel http://www.nicholsmfg.com/flywheel.html ... and if your going to install a new flywheel, you best also purchase the nichols flywheel nut kit http://www.nicholsmfg.com/flywheelNuts.html .

Is this the same dealer that told you that a 43 or 45T sprocket would fit but not a 44t?

Yes it is the same dealer. Supposedly one of the best in the nation. I just dont get it. It has to go out for machining now. Pretty frustrating
