Rearsets (Again)
I prefer to keep my passenger pegs (one of the conditions of buying a new bike was that my wife had to be able to ride on it), but I'd like to get the clearance for track days that rearsets allow for.
So far I have looked at Woodcraft, Rizoma and SATO. SATO (like the Ozzy song) allows for stock pp's but I don't care for their look.
Any ideas? Anyone with pics?

Pegs?
CTarna, firstly I gotta ask, What's with the stuffed penguin telling me where I am and what system I'm using. Do you think I'm lost in outer-cyber space? I know there are geeks out there watching my every key stroke, but I don't want them in my face telling me.
Now, with regard to rear set footpegs. The standard pegs are short in length, not as wide as your average bike boot. Many have complained about wearing the sides off their boots but I haven't heard any body mention scraping footpegs.
After I gave my titanium toe sliders a touch-up when bike was stock, I reverted to firstly keeping my toes on the pegs (not the middle of my foot) when cornering hard, and secondly suspension set up.
If you have an 'S' model, raising rear ride height will help the bike turn in faster, increase your ground clearance and by raising the centre of gravity you don't need to lean as hard for a given corner speed. Then dropping the forks thru the yokes the same distance will return 'turn in' to previous setting but gain you more ground clearance and higher C of G. This is cheap/quick and easily reversable with no refund required compared to the rear sets.
Currently I need a new front header pipe positioned under the sump, or maybe I should slow down.

i know there was a post on here very recently of a company that would soon be making adjustable foot pegs. So, you could swing them up and back a few inches to give a bit more clearance. Hopefully the vendor will chime in. That looked to me like a much more affordable option.

We have a adjustable rearset that is intended for the Multistrada and was told that they should work on a HM. They have not tried it on a Hyper because Hypers are not that big in Japan.
Anyone want to be a test case?
I can try and get a deep discount for someone willing to try.
Here is a shot
The MSRP is Approx $1277 USD (138,000 Japanese Yen)
Here is what they have listed as adjustability:
15mm Back
15mm Up
20 mm Back
20mm up
25mm back
25mm up
Not sure what this means to me but thought I should include it

Thanks for the input.
OAN, I already got rid of this one:
Does that make you feel better? (In case you were lost.)

ditto.. i have scraped pegs on every bike I've owned but not my hyper, i put rear sets on every other bike. SATO are the bomb and easily repairable with parts easy to get and quite cheap. (if i remember correctly)
I've yet to ditch the pegs on thy hyper, probably coz i'm light and have the suspension quite firm, its the rear shock compressing too much in a corner that will mostly cause the pegs to ditch.
that said i do find the pegs about an inch or 2 too low and i prefer to be on my toes more than my arse. one thing i do find hard on this bike is getting comfortable doing knee down, i worked this out as the pegs are too low for my leg and there is no tank to hang your top arm off so you've always got too much input on the bars, double that with wide bars and its just not comfy for me.
anyway, IF i were to get a set I'd go sato without a doubt. the only benefit is fixed pegs for crash protection and a bit of extra height that you don't really need.

I need some new rearsets too. On my long trip I found myself resting my feet on the passenger pegs for comfort....I'm used to my 748. I'm going with SATO too I think. Up and back is what I need....if anybody cares.
