Track Time
For those of you that have done track days or raced how did you do? Is the Hyper able to beat some of the sport bikes on the track? What are you beating and what's beating the Hyper?
Just curious how well a Hyper could do against some of the bikes at track days.
I know it's not made to go out and kill some of the faster street bikes but I saw a guy on a Suzuki SM this last weekend at Roebling Road and he was beating the hell out of some of the street bikes. I think he was on a 450.

It's really an open-ended question. It all has to do with how good a rider you are, not how good the bike is. So comparing two different riders on two different bikes is completely moot.
The question is: How fast can a given rider go on a Hyper, as opposed to the same rider on a XXXX, and on what kind of track?
When I took my Hyper to our local track which is fairly twisty, with just one long straight of maybe a quarter mile, I would estimate that I could lap within a second or two of what I could do on a 600, or a big twin sport bike.
You'll definitely miss out on some top end, so the faster the track, the bigger the deficit. There's a little bit of a ground clearance issue, unless you have aftermarket rearsets, in which case that problem is solved.
Otherwise, the bike brakes and corners quite well. You can carry a ton of speed into the corner on the front wheel, maybe better than most sport bikes. So that's your advantage...

That's what I was getting at. I should have been more clear of what I was looking for. I just feel like I can ride this bike faster in the curves than my 1000RR or 929. Have a lot more confidence in the Hyper. Just wondering if others feel the same way. I know on the straights it's not a question.
Thanks for the info.

Hyper is King of the Canyons!!
The Hyper works SUPER in tight canyons and tight tracks like the Streets of
Willow, the super low end thrust of the bike makes it almost like cheating!
Great bike for the cut & thrust crowd, as long as there are NO long straight aways! The bikes that that seem to give me trouble are other Hypers or the Japanese 600's, those little buggers scream to 16,000 RPM's and are amazingly fast! Aloha Alex

How long is a piece of string?
Had a guy telling me the other day he got passed by a Guzzi Cali Stone at a track day while he was on his 749R. I had to confess ..........
But when I thought I was fast on my MKIII Le Mans over a pissin wet mountain, some snotty nosed brat on a Honda Hawk 400T (light blue round tank), wearing jeans and T-shirt, passed me like the wheels on my zimmer had just seized. It could have been Mick Doohan.
You is what you is and always will be, .................................... until you get better, hey Alex?
