Question Dealer says 44T supersprox will not work

I'm having my dealer do a new chain front and rear sprockets - 520 conversion. I ordered the Supersprox 44T rear and the dealer says it wont work as the chain cant be adjusted after its mounted and the chain guard will not fit. He says I have to go 43 or 45 to make it work.

Any help here? This was the gearing I really wanted. One tooth up in the rear isnt enough.

DukePilot, I know you've done this. Am i missing something here?

Thanks

Well it does work on my bike! It was pretty easy to install, don't know what issues your dealer is having.

I'm running a shift-tech hugger and the stock rear sprocket guard. Did your dealer get the right sprocket? Do they know how to adjust the chain? Did they order the proper chain length? Sounds illogical that a 43 or 45 would work but not a 44.

Personally, I prefer to do all the work on my bike myself. I don't trust work done by dealership mechanics.

Maybe they sent the wrong sprocket but it doesnt seem likely.

He mentioned he always had this problem with 44 T rears.

This sucks. I may have to go with the DP alloy 43 rear just to get it done.

Thanks for the help Dukepilot

Do it yourself! You can buy a chain tool and speedymoto axle nut socket with the money you would otherwise spend on labor.

The deal was that removing one link was going to move it too close to the swingarm so it's all the way back. I'll ride it and stretch the chain then have it adjusted. I dont think the chain guard will fit though.

I will look into doing some of this myself.

Dukepilot- thanks for the help! I've done plenty of dirt bike chains

Thanks all!

Did you buy the black plate or have it anodized?

Here is the carrier you need.

Here is the Vortex sprocket you need.

Or this one.

I don't know if the Vortex will work with the Hyper or not, but I assume they will.

Out!
