bad times for the Dragon!

well I guess some dumbass cop ruined deals gap for everyone. Apparently last week some total idiot decided to run a bike off the road since he could not catch him and killed the guy. The guy on the bike happened to be an off duty officer on his personal bike.

The story is that police have swarmed the area and have started writing every bike a ticket for anything, everything and even nothing at all. They are nitpicking so bad that every bike is being pulled over and getting a ticket from anything to insufficient tire tread to license plate location. I also heard that road reflecters were put in to complicate things just a little bit more.

This is just terrible that a rider had to lose his life because of some idiots bad judgement and now the legendary deals gap will not be the same anymore.

Not quite sure I follow your story here. The off-duty officer was run off the road and killed by an on-duty officer? Or the off-duty officer was run off the road by someone else or someone else was run off the road by an off-duty officer. Not quite following I guess..........

The Dragon was ruined years ago by herds of cruisers, and by squids who think it's a race track instead of a two-lane public road.

off-duty officer was riding his bike... someone in a car was chasing him, couldn't catch him, and ran him off the road prob. because he was following him too closely. That's my interpretation of the OP's post... regardless, it sucks. Was at the dragon 2 weekends ago and there were 6 LEO's... oh well, there are better roads to ride around there anyway.

If he couldn't keep up or catch him how did he run him off the road?

does anyone have a link of a newspaper atricle or anything? I looked on a couple deal's gap websites and couldn't find anything about it.

I hope you aren't calling a deceased off-duty cop a dumbass? That is beyond harsh

We (enthusiasts in western NC) usually hear current rumors of above average bufoonery and tragedy from the Gap. Some of them are even true. I've heard nothing about this. That said, every itteration of lunacy has probably seen the light of day at the "GAP", one time or another.
