Marzocchi Fork tools
Has anyone found a suitable pin spanner to remove the fork caps from a HM-S? Like many others I am looking to get inside the fork and try and clean up the mess. During call to Marzocchi a few months ago , I was told that even Ducati didn't initially have a fork cap wrench and was forced R&R whole forks for something as minor as a leaky fork seal. Marzocchi USA tech told me that they were working on a tool of there own. No word yet on that- I have been looking at adjustable face pin spanners, but I am not excited about wrecking my caps with the wrong tool.Has anyone found a tool that will cleanly remove the caps?

I can measure up and compare the ohlins cap pin size and PCD to see if an ohlins tool will fit

found the tool. It's an 'adjustable face pin spanner'. There are several on ebay. The critical dimensions are the pins- 4mm diameter and at least 6mm long. The tool looks like an old divider (or protractor) and cost $10-15 online. Take the pins down a litte with sandpaper and taper the inside edges of the arms to clear the caps (HM-S). The caps are not on too tight (don't forget to loosen the top triple) and the springs are easy to remove at 0 preload. The forks can be drained on the bike by removing the compression adjusters and gently pumping the cartridge rod.
