Best Exhaust?
I know this is kind of a general question, but what are your opinions?
Seems like it's down to:
Zard
GPR
Remus
Termi
Arrow
Leo Vince
Has anybody done dyno runs? It would be interesting to compare although from what I've seen of the welds/construction/design, the Arrow look incredibly good.
Too bad they stick out so far behind the seat....
What I find interesting is that DP advertises the full Termi at 6% power increase (correct me if I'm wrong). They also advertise 10% increase for the cams/ecu/air filter. However, if you add cams and Termi togethe, you still only get about 10%
what gives?

You forget one thing.. The power to weight ratio..
And, it seems like that the Termi is the winner here..
I dont think that any of the other brands on the exhaust-pipes aftermaked who's lighter than the full Termignoni system. Maybe the Full NCR Course system, but youll have to spend the cash on those pipes..

Leo's!
I like the Leo's, nice look, good quality, GREAT price, and they make
some of the best numbers on the dyno, compared to some of the other
exhaust systems I've seen, I use the ECU from the DP cams kit, the cams will be
installed later when I build the motor. The 10% increase is not that bad,
the stock motor puts out close to 80HP so an extra 8HP is decent,
considering the size of the engine and the semi high state of tune. Aloha Alex

I'd love to hear from an installer/shop on this. I have the Termi Slipons. I was shocked to find that the carbon fiber was a short sleeve that was screwed to the cans. Welds were unimpressive. I've had a few sets of Arrow pipes on other bikes and always thought they were nice.

I've installed the Termis, Zards, and LV exhausts on the HM and the LVs are the easiest to install and fit the best. I like the Arrow system and if I were to replace my LV it would be with the Arrow system.

I've also been looking at the Arrow because from the past, they've always made really nice quality stuff.
Also, their 2-1-2 setup is really nice when it splits back into 2 under the seat. The only problem is that the cans stick out too far in the back.....

I'm curious about the LV pipes. I've already got a DP ECU and the LV cat eliminator but will wait to install those until I decide on the pipes. I had the termis on my GT and the quality was fine but not necessarily impressive. There was also a huge difference in loudness between running with and without baffles. Without baffles was a bit too boomy for my taste, with baffles the bike was quieter than with the stock pipes. The big improvement was in overall smoothness and ride-ability.
That last point is the main reason I'll eventually get new pipes. The stock Hyper is pretty good, better than the stock GT smoothness-wise but there's definitely room for improvement. Do the LV's improve the overall smoothness of the engine? How loud are they and is there any provision for adjustment? This is kind of a sticky point because Denver has a new anti-moto noise regulation. I realize "sound" is highly subjective and I'm hoping to audition as many different setups as I can before taking the plunge. Just curious what you all think.
Finally, I thought I remembered reading somewhere that the installation of the LV pipes would necessitate the removal of my hugger because of a clearance issue. True or false?

The Leos do improve smoothness. as for being loud yes with out the db killers with them in it aroud 95 db so it should be fine in Denver. As for the hugger I would not know but would like some feedback myself.

The LV pipes are very loud without the db killers installed, especially on decel. I run the db killers in my bike and its definitely louder than stock and our dyno runs show that there is minimal power loss. In fact, simply removing the db killers will result in a bit of a power drop unless more fuel is added via the trim adjustment.
I also have the hugger and its made contact with the cross over pipe a couple of times on big hard bumps, but so long as your ride height and sag are properly adjusted, its no big deal. Since you've already installed the cat eliminator and have a DP ECU, going with the LV slip-ons is probably the most economical choice.

Have had many carbon cans (Hindle, Devil, Termi, Remus....etc.) and they were all made the same way, with the carbon pop riveted on the ends.
