clutch rubbing??

my hyper is my first ducati with a dry clutch. i dont know what to make of this rubbing noise/ sensation when i am launching off in first gear. It doesn't feel very smooth and only happens once in a while.

does this make sense?

Are you getting a squeal/screech? Pretty likely it's built up dust. I had that problem after about 500 miles. I removed the solid clutch cover and put a ventilated cover on. No (unusual) noises since. I think there's some other posts about this as well.

Dry is a bit different, needless to say. When it's hot or first start up?

How many miles? Mine did it for the first 500 or so miles then stopped. I think it was a breaking-in situation. Perfect now.

I'm wondering if your clutch plates are a bit glazed. May be worth taking an abrasive pad to the steel and/or fiber plates.
