Bike wouldn't start, immobilizer error code 37.1

This morning when I went out to start the bike for my ride, it powered up fine but wouldn't start. At first I thought it was the sidestand, but it was up. I played with the display button and it pulled up "IMMO 37.1" which is an error code for the immobilizer. I turned it all off, tried again, and same thing. I tried the second key, and it worked fine. Did a 200 mile ride, and when I got home I tried the first key that didn't work, and now it works fine.

Any ideas? Can someone with a service manual tell me what the 37.1 code means?

I suspect my ECU is about to crap out. My idle continues to get worse when the bike is hot, and it stalled 4-5 times today at idle. When it's hot now it will stallat will just by cracking the throttle sharply from idle, as soon as the revs drop it dies.

Had the problem several times yesterday.

In my case, it was because I had replace the OEM plastic antenna housing with a CF one, and hadn't glued the antenna into it. Result was, with time the antenna moved lower, until it could no longer detect the key. Moving the antenna towards the key solved the problem. Sometime, I will RTV it in place.

Tom,

That must be it. Last week I installed the Scotts steering damper and had to move the immobilizer ring to the new ignition housing, and maybe it moved just enough to keep it from reading the key.

I was wondering if you had installed a Scott's. That should be an easy fix!
