I joined the Dark side!!!
I finely got my hyper S yesterday and im goin nutz, This thing is awsome! I have been doin my reading on the forum getting to know what everyone has been up to with these bike, im comin from a zx-10r and an xr650r and i really wanted to combine the two so here i am, Everything the xr was lacking with a few traits from the zx! Gonna give the suspension a rough setup, regretfully all my suspension guru's are at seca this weekend for GP, im leaving this afternoon and camping out for sunday (Comin from Oakland). Not gonna ride the hyper cause i dont want to break it in on the freeway, i actually got it used with the termi 2-1 and DP race seat with a total of 318 miles, after last night im in the mid 400's.
First question would be are the valves checked at the first 600mile service or is the bike just given the once over?
Anyways more to come and better pictures as well but this is what i got so far!
Dave

Also one other thing ive noticed is when lightly shifting between 4-6 i can sometimes find a nuetral where the transmission does not engage, Not super worried about it i just down shift and shift again a little less lazy and it finds the gear.... I have seen threads about this but i have avoided them to give more justification to purchasing the bike!

valves are done at 7500 miles.
at 600 miles, the shop i go does the oil and checks the brakes, fluids, chain, resets the TPS & fuel trim
every now & i find neutral as well. also did it on my Daytona.

False neutrals are what having Ducatis are all about.

As a matter of fact.... The Hyper has never lunged me. perfect. of course, I short shift a lot....

start reading what everyone else has gone through. I hope that you have the balance of the warranty? It cost ducati $1k to fix mine. I always recommend for those who have this problem to call ducati north america so they expedite your dealer a bit.
Once it was fixed, it has been perfect. So, you have clearer skies ahead of you. I've had 2k miles since the problem.

Literally 20 minutes ago, on my way to work, I had a 5-6 shift "neutral" at 86mph. Quick clutched to make sure it didn't re-engage too quickly.
These finicky Italian biotches!

Quitchabitchin' and go buy an old Guzzi, you get 5 gears and 3 neutrals, none of which show a green light. If you get a green light it's bullshittin' ya. Trust me I've owned heaps of 'em.
