Moto Guzzi marrow in my bones
I have in the past owned 5 Guzzi's and they are responsible for my Italian engineering fettish. I still have a Guzzi key ring (50th birthday present) on my Hyper.
This morning I test rode both a Bellagio and a new Griso 8v, they were both nice bikes to ride and both very capable of scarring the crap out of nippon crotch rockets in the corners, BUT ............... How can I go back?
Compared to the Hyper ..................... there can be no comparison, they are not even on the same planet. I know our brakes are giant overkill but suddenly anything less seems weak, dull, lifeless and dangerous. Yes the others do stop well but you have to squeaze so hard, I've been spoilt by Ducati/Brembo.
The smaller 936cc Bellagio is very smooth but not as smooth as a Ducati, and the 1200cc Griso has more grunt but not as much as the Hyper. Both are too fat, too fat, too fat!
Oh well, I'll have to wait for an MGS-01 with lights and 20kg less pork and 20 grand cheaper, or, I might just buy a Ducati key ring.

If you do, get the Bellagio as the motor is smoother and more responsive than any of the Cali's and the 6 speed/Carc/monoshock add tremendous quality to the ride.
As for Hossegor, your a bastard. That's a nice piece of machinery, how about some details?

Here's mine , a 200 V11 stripped as stripped should be and true to the "cafe" look and spirit
The Guzzi compliments my 1098, when I just want to ride sanely, I take the Guzzi, these bikes have tremendous character and the sound....puts a Harley to shame.
I would in a heartbeat, trade in the 1098 for an MGS01, but alas, they do not make a street version.....yet
Get a Guzzi

I shure would hate to lay one down
I bet the cylinder head would cost major bucks to replace

Look closely my friend, it has a 10mm thick alloy skate blade attached to the head/tappet cover. Over the years there has been many a crash test dummy to prove how effective these are. Cylinder heads have perfect positioning for hand and glove warming on a long cold ride, and that's just one of many pluses to owning a Guzzi.

I attended the National Guzzi Rally at the beach in SoCal last month and saw many very cool Guzzi's They had a Stelvio at one of the local shops too but I didn't make it over that day. Guzzis are very cool Italian machines.....
but I love my Hyper more than any other bike I have ever owned!

I wanted an MGS/01, but they didn't make a street version so I started buying Ducatis, as I don't like any of the current Guzzis.

I've had my 1978 Moto Guzzi 850 Lemans I for over 28 of its 30 years and I'm sure it will be part of my estate when I die, long after all the other bikes are gone.
BTW, Ghezzi, I have not a steering stablizer on the Lemans.
Thanks to a kamikazie deer, I tested the cylinder head guards and can attest they work quite well. After hitting the deck, I was able to ride home, albeit with severely bent forks.
