Problems!!!! and only 500 miles!
Maybe someone else has had a issue similar to mine. took my bike out throught the canyons on tues afternoon. on they way home my oil pressure light came on.. then my temp display started jumping around all crazy from 151, 155, 280, 300, 140, in no order at all. i pulled over and let it cool down for about a 15 min. turned it back on and the same thing happend at idle. i got it back home. checked ot again this morning and the oil pressure light stays on and insted of reading "LO" on the temp gauge at warm up it is blank with "- - -".
any thoughts?

If it was just the oil pressure light I would shit myself profusely. Then after the pacemaker took over and I was calm I would settle for warranty claim. If the engine had failed in 500 miles I would rather a new bike but at the very least a new motor. I have seen my local Honda dealer replace a CBR600 with similar issues.
However, it appears you have two faults all happening at once so I would put my money on an electrical fault. Sensors, wiring, dash, ECU etc.
Best advice, when you see that RED light, stop, call the dealer and truck it to them.

I would disconnect the battery over night and see whether the bike "resets"

And make sure the battery cables are tight in the first place.

so i checked all the connections. everthing is good. even disconnected the battery for a few to re-set everything. light still comes on. everything acts the same as before. and to make it worse Ducati towing only covers $200 to tow my bike in to get fixed and none of there tow companys will do it for that! so it still sits un-ridable in my garage.... after riding for over ten years and just about everything im pretty disappointed with this.
hope this dosent happen to anyone else....

Dude, your shop won't come pick up the bike for you? That's pretty f'ing sad. I'm going to guess you didn't buy at PI?

PM me your address and if we can get to PI before they'll close, I'll give you a lift. I'll respond with a phone number.
