Crash Protection
How do Hypers hold up in a lowside?
I'm going to be taking my bike to the track soon and I'd like to get some added protection in case I end up lowsiding. Any recommendations?

Frame sliders, and wheel sliders will help, I also took off the passenger footpegs, (not the brackets) and made sliders that replaced the pegs themselves, looks like it will the BEST protection for the swingarm. Aloha Alex

+1 on the sliders. Also, ditch the stock "handguards" and either run some supermoto style guards, or bar-end sliders.

I'd also suggest spending some $$ right off the bat on some rearsets. Had mine at Barber this weekend and was grinding my pegs (plus gear shift and brake lever)

I have another post called sliders and stands about sliders from T-rex. They are very good quality and affordable compared to other makers.

No protection from 'Grasshoppers'
Mate, I hope your protection does good on the north side. Retrieved a Honda Blackbird from base of Mt Glorious on Sunday morning. Nothing would have saved this one, a 60+kg grasshopper (named skippy) committed suicide by jumping out in front of the bike. Rider has broken fingers from clutch/brake levers from initial impact but stayed upright for 70m. Eventually lost it off the side of the road where the bike cartwheeled itself to death against rocks. Rider sustained more injuries requiring helicopter rescue, he'll be OK. Skippy was pronounced DOA.
