I covet thy Hyper.
Ducati North America was at Cook's Corner this weekend offering demo rides and I test rode the Hyper for two days straight!
I kept getting back in line to sign up for another demo ride - like a kid at Disneyland.
We rode the entire Santiago Canyon/Live Oaks Canyon roads. Sweepers + twisties.
If I rode the Hyper before buying my SportClassic, I think I would have bought the Hyper.
Wait - why not own both.
I'm jealous of you guys. That bike is the most fun on two wheels.

Amen! I've been a dirt bike rider my whole life. I love riding dirt bikes. Every weekend when I'm deciding what to go ride the Hyper wins. I never thought that would happen! Even though I can't figure out how to drag a knee it's still a load of fun.

Funny you should ask. I've been looking at http://www.motostrano.com/ and thinking about giving it a go. Just not totally sure on what I should buy. My WR is YZ-fied (only thing left on it is the e-start and wide-ratio gearbox). Why?
Pardon me if I've hi-jacked this thread!!

Aeolian, when I first announced I had traded my GT for the Hyper S, a few folks on the SC forum asked for an update later on. You pretty much summed up my feelings about this bike, it's just heaps of fun to ride. I don't think it's for everyone, but what bike is? If it happens to scratch your particular itch, it's hard to beat.
I find it extremely interesting how so many dirt riders love the bike. I've enjoyed dirt riding in the past but haven't actually done it in ages. What the Hyper does for me is pretty much what any really good naked bike does but the ergos happen to fit me better than any Monster or even my GT. It also happens to look great while also being a bit devilish. Your test ride experience was kind of like mine...you're hooked. Any delay in purchasing your Hyper is just putting off the inevitable. Time to give in...

Well obviously, you'll have no further use for that Yamaha boat anchor, problemo solverdo! Ciao.
Ps. As for your covetous spirit, I suggest you place the red white and green prayer mat on the floor facing Bologna, at least three times a day and offer up prayers of thanksgiving to Dr. Taglioni.

I remember you! Yes - everyone on the SportClassic forum was saying WTF?! !@%$
I did think about "that one guy" (you) who traded his GT for the the Hyper while I was riding one.
I completely understand. Good choice!
