Acceptable exhaust leakage, bouncing idle
Based on the picture below, is this an acceptable amount of exhaust leakage at this joint? This is after cleaning the area and riding 200 miles. Bike has Termi slip-ons, ECU, airbox, and right at 2k miles now.
I've noticed that after the bike is hot (about an hour of riding) the idle bounces continuously from around 900-1300 rpm. Barely opening the throttle steadies it, and the bike seems to be running okay otherwise. It seems to have gotten worse as I've put miles on it. My mileage seems to be acceptable, ranging from 75-90 miles until tripping the reserve light, depending on how I'm riding it.

I've got the same sort of 'sooth' at all the joints. My guess is that it's from the catalic converter.

the leakage of exhaust is a bit excessive. you might check tightness of the clamps, and apply a little exhaust silicon seal (the heat proof copper based stuff, available at most auto parts supply stores).
and for the bouncing idle, did you have the TPS adjusted after installing the new ECU?

Not sure about the exhaust leakage but with the full system I have no issues such as that and as for the bouncing idle that is not normal. As John said have you had the TPS set?

I'm not positive the TPS was reset when they installed the Termi slip-on kit, but immediately after bringing it around from the shop it threw the "check engine" light, and they brought it back in and did something to reset things.
They also removed the charcoal cannister when they installed the pipes. I never requested this and was wondering if that's standard procedure with the Termi slip-ons.
Whatever the issue, it's getting worse as the miles go by. I'm thinking about putting the stock ECU in just to see if it changes the idle. I'm assuming it's not optimized to work with the Termi's and DP airbox, but if the bike idles okay with the stock ECU then I know the problem likely lies with the ECU supplied with the Termi kit. Unfortunately short of taking a vacation day it's almost impossible for me to ride the bike enough to get it hot and idling badly and get it to my dealer during their business hours.

ask the dealer to advise if they re-set the TPS ... if not, have them do it right away.
also, when they removed the canister, did they plug the air hose holes in the throttle bodies with screws and a crush washer ... or did they just cap the air screws with rubber caps? if the later, this can cause air leaks, which will mess with idle speed, and cause the bike to run lean at just off idle.
a presto,
johnc

I just adj the trim screws because mine failed to idle after a trip up to Sedona after a five min heat soak. Stock 1/2 turn out, idle 1050/1250, now 1 1/4 turn out, idle 1200/1350. The only brass screws in the side of the injector bodies.
