Scotts Damper Installed! Nice!

Well after reading the Ducatisti who are against the dampers, I did purchase one and did put it on. I agree suspension is key to removing headshake and track loading, I just felt the need for another degree of anti-slappage. May be bling, but you can't mess with Scott's quality and performance.

So here goes:

First, let me say that Scott's instructions and the kit itself are complete. The install went smoothly as these guys really put an effort into making sure you're covered.

Kit as it came (even with blue loc-tite) -

Took off top clamp and key cover-

Unplugged anti-theft from left side on frame -

Key cover and anti-theft device -

Fancy towel holder with duct tape, lower perch removed -

Lower OEM washers placed in Scotts lower perch -

Lower perch installed -

HARD PART! GRAB ANOTHER BEER. - Removed anti-theft ring from key cover -

This takes patience, the ring has two tabs holding it down and some light glue. The glue is the beotch to slowly pry away. Used a very small set of flatheads. DO NOT BREAK THE PLASTIC RING.

OEM ring installed in Scotts delrin (?) housing. The cut out from Scotts fit nicely.

New housing snapped into key cover (press fit, added loc-tite). Locked down with acorn nuts and and floating pin greased and in place -

Damper in place -

Top clamp on -

Done and done.

Overall, I love the infinite adjustability and the comfort of knowing not only my suspension will be dialed in, but I have a back up for the accel out of track day curves. Scotts is half the price of Ohlins and the same device.

handlebars in a higher location? or are they at the stock height? thanks, Alex

PS: how much was the kit?

Beautiful...I'm sure a sucker for blacked out components.

One of the nicest things about this kit is you don't have to remove the upper triple clamp to mount the post. Until I say your pictures, I did not realize this important fact.

OEM height from what I gathered from the Scott's website.

...

OEM height from what I gather. Still feels the same after install for the height.

Kit is $599, but as one of the lucky first purchasers, I got mine for much less.
