Hamee,
If you go to the Ducati website you can see the Ohlins rear shock that is available for purchase. I am not sure if anyone else was making one that works yet. Elka from Canada had an interest to make one for HM's but needed a minimum of 10 bikes to produce it and we were unable to get enough people together at that time interested.

If you are going to the trouble of buying a new shock don't buy the S's basic Ohlins. There will be other model Ohlins with the same basic dimensions, as in eye to eye length, eye dia. etc. Go the whole hog and get ride height adjuster, remote hydraulic pre-load adjuster and even high/low speed comp/rebound damping, then you will have something special.

I agree with Ghezzi - get the Ohlins with all the trimmings, not the "basic" one that came with the S model. I'm sure you can find one that will fit. A good suspension shop will also match the right spring to your weight and riding style / application.

Is it time to resurrect Elkas interest?
I've only used Ohlins, but I've heard good things from reputable riders about Elkas 3 way.
I'd give them a shot if they put one together for us.

Just put the $$ into having the Sachs revalved/resprung. For the price of an Ohlins you could do the Zoke forks as well. Sachs is a good shock, much like Ohlins. The magic is in the setup (spring rate and valving). The hydraulic preload adjuster is trick but usefull only if you need to change preload a lot like for carrying passangers or heavier luggage. On a touring bike for sure but on a Hyper?

Yeah, Traxxion does a good job on this for not a lot of dosh.
I also agree about the pre load needing little fiddling after initial setup though I do like having it available while that is accomplished initially.
New shock = an hour install. Rebuilding existing = sending it out which = waiting till winter. I want it now and I want lots of it.
BTW, Traxxion also has a nice cartridge for the forks. I don't know if they have sorted a hyper yet, however.

My personal experience with the ohlins hydraulic preload adjuster is that it is nearly worthless. I had one on my ohlins for my R6 trackbike. I had traxxion remove it in favor of one of their collars that are very similar to a penske preload collar. It has a much more precise/predictable adjustment.
