Clutch life?
What kind of clutch life is everyone getting. I've got 3000 miles of canyon riding and this weekend my clutch started screeching on starts from a standstill. Is the thing worn out already? or is there some kind of adjustment? I've got the full Termi exhaust and ECU but stock otherwise. Thanks.

Just clean it....
The stock clutch is just dirty and sticky with residue, for some reason it gets
worse with the stock cover on, I took my clutch apart and cleaned the
plates with "brake clean" available from any auto parts store, spray and wipe
them clean, and reinstall, if you can live with the noise, install an open clutch
cover, the clutch will stay cleaner, and your bike will run a few degrees cooler, now you know , Alex

How do you explain the clutch staying cleaner with an open cover? Wouldn't dirt and debris from the road make its way in?
If this really works I'm going to have a look on ebay right now .

That did the trick. Service manual shows 2.6mm minimum thikness on the plates, mine measured 2.9. Wonder what new ones measure.

The stock clutch cover will retain the clutch "debris" and get gummy when she starts wearing, and the open clutch seems to fling "debris" away, so it'll
stay cleaner, and you can also spray the brake clean on the clutch, right thru
an open cover. Aloha Alex
