Hypermotard Handguards and Mirrors on a M696??
First and foremost, Hypermotards make me drool everytime I see them. For my first real performance bike I chose the new M696 in an effort to stay out of trouble doing hooligan acts on the Hyper.
Anyways, I was curious if the handguard and mirror setup could be installed on my bike. It looks like the controls are all the same and I'm assuming the handguards install into the controls some how. I could be wrong. But maybe if someone could provide closeups of the handguard setup it would help me determine if they would fit.
The biggest reason I'm looking to this idea is that the M696 mirrors are basically useless. So I'm thinking the hanguards on the M696 might look kind of cool and then I have the bar end mirrors that go with them. Do these mirrors seem to work pretty well?
Thanks in advance!

I think they would bolt right on, if the wiring lead connectors are the same.
The mirrors work great on the stock Hyper gaurds but they are wide, making it difficult to split lanes in traffic.
I just removed the stock gaurds off my Hyper and replaced them with Acerbis rally gaurds. I am still working on a clean turn indicator set up.
I would sell my stock guards for a fair price.
edit,
The stock HM1100 gaurds install the same as most rally guards. Seperate from the controls.

I just read about the 696 in sportrider. Cool bike. 80 hp is nothing to shake a stick at with a good pile of torque. I wish they spent the extra couple of $$'s to put on adjustable suspension. It can't cost that much more to the manufacturer.
I think this place is your best source for the guards. Those that I've seen on ebay are going for msrp dealer prices. There is a set on there right now for $500! That is crazy.
They appear to just bolt on and look like they'd work with about any bike with standard sized bars. I don't know about the wiring though.

You guys are correct, I completely forgot that the HM has the turn signals integrated into the handguards. That would look amazing to have them wired up and get rid of the stockers on my 696.
LATEBRAKER: I'm not too worried about splitting traffic as I rode mostly rural areas, so I think this setup would work great for me. If you could PM me with a price your thinking about that would be great.
FREEZER16801: Yes the bike really is a good time. The torque has really blown me away and like any other Ducati it seems to handle like it's on rails. The rear shock is adjustable (very limited) but the front, what you see is what you get. O well I guess it is considered an entry level bike.
I'll have to look in to the wiring and see if it's feasible, or if any one knows help would be appreciated. The M696 is new ground so I'm finding it difficult to get loads of info.

Funny I was thinking the exact opposite-- I'd like to know if I can put the 696 mirrors on a HM.
When I test rode the 696, I found it to be the best mirrors I'd ever used. Great visibility, no vibrations, plus a nice shape too...
So, if the 696 mirrors had the same mount thread size as a the HM's DP Mirror part, I'd be set...
