Thinking of getting one, but......
Just thought I would ask what sort of riding do people do with a Hypermotard. I'm looking for something that I can ride on for a while and not be dying to get off of it. I've been contemplating a MV Agusta Brutale, Speed triple, Buell XB12S or something like a Buell Ulysses or a Triumph Tiger 1050. Is the Hypermotard something you can do a day trip on and cover longer distances comfortably?
I wasn't crazy about the Hypermotard at first, but then I saw the black 1100s in the showroom and it grew on me. Like I said, I'd like something that I can go long distances on, but can also use it to scoot around town in. I love the looks of something like the Buell, but I worry about how hot that thing gets (that frame against your leg gets pretty spicy). So I guess the question is......what sort of use fo YOU give the Hypermotard?
Thanks,
Gus

While the Hyper's touring assets are by far not it's strong suit, comfort improvements can be made at fairly modest cost, i.e. seat, wind screen suspension adjustments. But what the HM does bring is sheer joy every time one throws a leg over. And for that alone, one can endure some discomfort in the touring department. It's range at <100 miles offers the rider a frequent and oftentimes welcomed brake at as well. I'm sure others will weigh in here, as you can imagine, this IS Hyper-friendly country.

Brutale too small for me, Buell to clunky for me, the Hyper - Me Liky!!!! Most fun I've had on 2 wheels in 20 years. Long rides you ask?? You have to stop every 100 miles for fuel so you get to stretch a little quite often. Longest day ride so far was 275 miles up in Big Sur, CA. Scooting around town is a blast on ther Hyper but watch out for cops! It's easy to get going fast and not even realize it.
For an all around bike, The Hyper is right for me, but never rule out the Multistrada. Especially if you like the look of a scooter on steroids!
Hope this helps.
Cheers

The ergos on the Hyper are simply genius, and for that alone you should buy it. You will not be disappointed. One plus I've noticed is that unlike previous bikes I've owned, I can recover from any seat discomfort with brief stops around 50-75 miles, then I'm good to go again. That being said, order the comfort seat now so you can have it when you pick up that gorgeous black S, my DP comfort seat should be arriving in another week or so

The new Triumph Speed Triple is probably your best bet.

What is the difference with the comfort seat, just the cushioning?

The seat is softer, flatter and lower by 20mm - has some nice red stitch accenting too. It has received good reviews from alot of owners and its only $220 clams. Maybe do a picture search...
