I switched to Royal Purple full synthetic at 2500 miles and noticed a huge difference in shifting. Give yours til the 600 using the following and enjoy:

if you guys haven't had Ducs before then it might just be adapting to them, they are harder to find than jap bikes if you happen to be transferring across.
If that's not the case then I'd talk to your dealer, neutral is fine on my bike, always has been from new.

Always ride a Guzzi for 3 years minimum before buying a Ducati, my gearbox is perfect.

The clutch, brakes and other components should improve in feel by the time you need your 1000k first oil change. Get better soon so you can enjoy what you have.

I had some issues with neutral as well. I had trouble at long lights, just going back and forth between first and second. With the motor stopped, no problem finding neutral, and feels good at the foot. What I discovered that works, is that when rolling up to what I know will be a long light, while bike is still rolling, I pull in the clutch, and do a light tap from second, there's neutral. Seems to work all of the time. Don't know if the bike rolling has anything to do with it, but has certainly worked well for me. Be wary of the light as well.

So with only 120klm on the clock I spent the next 120k trying to keep it to half throttle and 6000rpm max, even doing whole laps in 6th gear I was passing people.
Anyhow, it's the hardest run-in procedure I've ever used, and all is fine.
LOVIN' IT

Jediduc said it above but it bears repeating. Beware of the neutral light. It can give false readings.

Really?? I always thought dry clutches were always easier to find neutral than a wet clutch. I have no problems finding neutral in both my dry clutched bikes.
