Tail bag install-totally lost
I've been trying to follow the directions to install the tail bag on the luggage rack. One of the straps is shorter than the other and I can't figure out how it has enough length to do anything. The directions suck or I'm an idiot...is one strap shorter than the other? I dont understand how the straps run through the bottom of the rack to secure the bag
Please advise
Thanks

When I had my GT one of the first things I ordered was the DP small tank bag and tank cover. When it arrived, I took it home and tried to fit it. I found one of the cover's straps to be about 5 or 6 inches shorter than the others and the damned thing just would not fit, no matter what I tried. I thought I was an idiot until I took it back to the dealer and nobody could get it to fit. Of course, this was the first of these bags they ordered and there were NO instructions included.
A few months later, I bought the same bag and cover from someone selling it here on Ducati MS. When I got it all the straps were even and it installed easily and intuitively. No instructions necessary.
I'm not saying your bag is defective (I have no idea what the straps are supposed to look like), just don't overlook that possibility...

I have the rear bag and rack, the straps should be the same length, the cross underneath the rack just behind the fixing bolt for the seat, you have to remove the seat to cross them under and attach to the buckle on the other side.
It aint a great design or fit but your straps sound defective mate.

hyprduc,
I did a search and saw your post with the pics...1 of the straps on my bag is too short and wont even reach the buckle on the other side. I took it to the dealer and they'll hopefully sort it out.
Are your straps the same length?
Thanks

Yep, straps are the same length which is sufficient to cross under as I showed in the pics. Sounds like you got a bumb bag.
