Interested in switching??

Okay, so I have a 2000 900SS. I recently went on a 1k ride and though I love my bike, I am looking for more of a standard ride and I like the look and I honestly do not think I can get away from Ducati/dry clutch.

I am 6'1" and weight 180. How are these bike for touring? I am not talking about more than a few days, 1k max.

It looks as though they handle well enough, and the position looks comfy compared to my bike.

Anyone go from an SS to one of these? Any suggestions would be great. I will get to the dealer to look, but I prefer to buy one a year or two old. But I havent seen one for sale on craigslist??

Thanks in advance. P.S. St's are just to plain for me.

Once you get things set up and a comfort seat it makes a decent platform. As far as for sale check out the classifieds on the forum I see a couple every now and then.

Hyper Tourers are GO!

These are excellent my friend. While I have owned bikes with clip-ons (RZ500, MkIII Le Mans x2, SV650, SZR660) and ridden them all long distances, apart from the comfort factor I am always drawn to the naked form of motorcycling, "No, the bikes you twit"!

I do love a wide alloy rim with 36 spokes, aaaahhhh! Might be something to do with being a '57 model meself.

All that is needed is 'memory foam' installed in the rider portion of the seat, $150 in Brisbane.

Luggage options are wide and varied, I use DP tank bags X3. Currently looking at the AXO seat bag as an extra/day ride pack.

Pulled 210kph yesterday (stock bike) with the central tank bag on, it actually helps with wind deflection touring wise.

The only accessory I want that is not available is a centre stand so I can oil my chain twice a day (every 500k).
