second gen DP windscreen now in stock in states
ciao a tutti -
got a call a few minutes ago from my local ducati dealership parts department ... the second generation DP windscreen had arrived and was ready for will-call.
picked it up, installed in less than 10 minutes.
fit is perfect in the second generation ... mounting holes are correct size, washers fit just right (a little loose to allow the plastic to expand under heat), and lined up with mounting holes perfectly.
the instruction/installation sheet is better than before ... the photos are almost good enough to see what the f is going on, unlike earlier "shot at night with no flash" photos usually found in DP instruction/installation sheets.
will test the wind protection on ride later today ... hopefully this windscreen will reduce wind buffeting over 90mph.
personal observation: not crazy about the looks of the windscreen ... the quality of the plastic is great, but it will take some getting use to from a looks perspective.
a presto,
johnc

I bought a screen this week, and based on your remarks about installation I'm guess it's the new one. It helps at highway speeds, but it's still pretty windy. It makes enough of an improvement that I'm leaving it on.

I've had one for a few weeks and would agree with the post below. Better but still breezy, I like it and am happy with the results. As a point of reference I'm 5'9".

Yeah, we've stated to received these as well. They are a better overall kit for sure.

I ordered a windscreen last Thursday so I'm guessing it'll be 2nd generation. Just so I know, are there specific differences that are apparent when you open the box? Does the new kit come with different parts that I should be looking for? Any advice would be appreciated.
