I DO Believe the Hype! 4Wks. Later
Four weeks ago today I picked up my new 08' S, in black. I have amased 1200 miles on her so far and just can't state how pleased I am with this bike.
As the name states it is a hyper-motard, not as light, nor a single whitch suits me fine. The motorcycle I have to own must be a do it all.
I came from a 2004 Tuono Racing, to the Hyper, and I know now that a made the right move.
Upon selling the T, I thought of buying a true motard, the likes of a Husquvarna as well as another commuter bike. However after spending about three hours on the SM, and the fact the S/O was not fond of a two bike garage led me to look for a single machine.
And wow! Have I found it. In the first two and a half weeks I did just over 600 miles, so I could install the Termi full exhaust and be ready for my trip to Deals Gap.
I did just over 400 miles in three days in the area as there are many great roads down there besides the Dragon itself.
The handling was great, just look and it started to lean, and lean it did. No mo chicken strips here! In the six years I have been going to the area the Hyper was by far the easiest and funniest bike that I have ever ridden on the twisties. The only issue was the occassional drag of hard parts, ie brake and shift lever could come into contact with the pavement.
Fuel range was fine approx. 100 miles every tank and I was ready for a stop at that time anyway. As well that was running the bike pretty consistently.
In addition to the trip I have also been using the Hyper as my commuter, getting upwards of 40+ mpg on every tank. With my best being near 60 and my worst at 40 even.
The Pirelli Corsa III's are a very good tire, at no time have they been unpredictible, or hard to turn in, or slide etc...
Thus far I am very, very happy with my choice to purchase the Hyper.
I will get some pics soon to show tire wear etc..
