How often do you adjust the chain?

And how much slack should there be when you are finished?

there is a sticker on the swingarm that indicates where to measure the chain slack, and how much slack to adjust to.

here is the description for chain adjustment from page 76 in the owners manual:

Checking drive chain tension (fig. 65) Wheel the motorcycle back and forth until finding the position at which the chain is tightest. Place the motorcycle on the side stand. Place the rule in front of the chain guard, push down on the chain and release it.

Tension up until the distance between the aluminium section of the swinging arm and chain pin centre is 30 ÷ 33 mm.

Important
Have chain tension adjusted by a Ducati Dealer or Authorised Workshop.

Warning
Correct tightening of swinging arm screws (1, fig. 66) is critical to rider and passenger safety.

Important
Improper chain tension will lead to early wear of transmission parts.

I've just done 6K miles, and it seems like most of it has been on the rear wheel. I've adjusted the chain 3 times, and the last time it didn't really need it. (and i'm running the 14 front, which the big brains on this board will tell you is harder on the chain and sprockets than the 15)

Not to hijack your thread, but I'm wondering if the 520 Conversion holds up well.

Ok I've read all the threads on chain tension/adjustment and it seems most are measuring from the aluminium swingarm and not the slider, surely this is too tight ! The 2008 cd manual shows different (I think 'bad image'), see pic.
