off idle throttle response

My total stock S has the jerky non smooth feel that makes the bike seem unpolished. Not good for a 14,000$ machine that has a old design motor.
I have 1800 miles and the specs are said to be at factory ok by my dealer.
I do not think I should have to pay thousands more for exhaust system etc.
I m ok with the power I just want smoooth 0ff idle handleability.
ant thoughts?

Agreed. It's almost as if the test riders at Ducati never rode a stock bike for more than a mile. Maybe all of their pre-production bikes were fitted with Termis. I hope that a Rapidbike or a PowerCommander will help. For now I'm just suffering through the jerky throttle and minor hesitation at partial throttle. If the bike wasn't so awesome, I don't know what I'd do.

Sorry guys, but I have the full Termi 2-1 + ECU and mine behaves the same way. I also have a number of different rattling sounds only evident just off idle, which to my way of thinking, just can't be right.

I have also had a number of gearbox gremlins that seem to happen once then everything is fine. while some of these could certainly be sloppy shifting (false neutral between gears) on my part, I don't think a new bike shouldn't be having all these strange things going on. one is getting close to the rev limiter (in 3rd), backing off the throttle, and the bike pops into neutral. I want to experiment with that situation to see if it happens again, either.

My bike was used (barely) and has an STM slipper clutch. The mechs at the dealer blame everything on the clutch- I don't buy it.

The poor off idle response is due to the lean settings necessary to meet Euro 3 emissions. The stock ECU runs off of a narrow band 02 sensor that controls fueling at low rpms and is set too lean. You might be able to smooth it out a lttle by making sure that your throttle bodies are properly syncronized/balanced but you will still be lean.

For good performance you need a CO level of 4-6%, stock is about 1.5%. Unfortunately, it isn't possible to adjust the fuel trim on the stock bike. To achieve 4-6% you have a couple of options:
  1. Get a DP ECU that eliminates the 02 sensor and adjust fuel trim to 4-6% CO out of each cylinder.
  2. Retain the stock ECU and get a rapid bike 02 emulator. The emulator does provide for some fueling adjustment and by itself, may produce good results. This is probably the least costly option.
  3. With the stock ECU and 02 emulator, add the Rapidbike 3 unit. This allows for remapping the fuel for each cylinder and ignition advance. This combination gives you more tuning options. RB has a canned map available for the stock HM that should work well.

For more info on the Rapidbike 02 emulator and RB3 unit, contact Al at www.moto4us.com
