Flywheel Install Questions
Is this a do it yourself type job? Any gotchas I need to be aware of?
I'm going to install a sweet set of the Sato (black) rearsets and was thinking of knocking out the flywheel while I was kinda in the area.....

If you search I did a little write up on how I did mine. It's pretty easy on this bike. If you have the footpegs off then you are half way there.

Here is a link to one of the flywheel discussions. I list the tools you need to perform the job. The one thing I did not list is a side case puller. I just used two metric bolts that were longer then the bolts shaft cover. I used a small puller that I had, but it would be easy enough to make something your self. Just don't use the stock shaft cover as it might break because it is a cheap cast piece. The only thing the puller really does is to break to sealant from the factory.
Light flywheels are they worth it?

I love it. If your bike is tuned right it will rev faster, pull harder and even pull away from stops easier. It will also flick quicker in corners. I see no downside to the flywheel now that I have put it in and ridden it.

Yep, Nichols is what I have. It's over 3 1/2 pounds lighter than the stocker!
