my one concern
i found a great deal on a "S" model with 200 miles on it. My only concern is while riding out to the hamptons today, is the bike ok for some highway and straight line riding. The ride was 41 miles, about 85%highway but in case i go for a ride like that how will i feel. I mean i am not looking to do 150 or 160 on the LIE in NY, but is it comfortable enough to do some straightline riding in between the side roads.

I drove mine back from Albany to Brooklyn about 160 miles. I was fine, the gusts of wind here and there were a pain, but other than that I was fine. My average speed was 75-85 and the bike felt very secure. My only complaint and this could be bc the seat is new and it is stock, but my ass was f%#@king killing me.
So, the answer to your question is sure its fine to do a little highway riding. Let me know when you want to ride.

AJ, you sign off with: GO HARD OR GO HOME.
In relation to your initial question, think about that statement in red.

I live in Dallas Texas (50+ miles to any curves) the Hypermotard is fine for droning down the road. My only problem is keeping within 30 mph of the speed limit. I have 3 days with 250+ miles...............go ahead you will not be sorry.

I find it actually easier on straight borring stuff than my previous TLR was. Very relaxed and easy to ride below 85 mph. Then, the wind gets pretty busy.
