did this yesterday. couldn't pull the pins out of the handle bars so i just used a hand held grinder to get rid of the clutch side and a dremel for the throttle side. WORLD OF DIFFERENCE.

No problem.
You have to adjust the controls on any bike to suit your needs. The fact that these are pinned in place is laughable.
