Exclamation hyper S - problem with brake lines?

HI guys,
first time on forum, please be gentle !

anybody having problems with front brake lines rubbing against forks, have reported mine today to Ducati , also noticed while at dealers that demo bike had same problem.

Standard hyper seems ok - because plastic mudguard is designed to keep brake lines away from forks

regards
geoff

I could see this being a potential problem. Some brake lines could have a little bit of a twist in them that causes them to bind up a little and rub the fender. I would think that if you have about a 1/4 inch of clearance when the bike is at rest, you shouldn't have an issue. Any closer, and I would try to manipulate things, like the clamp on the lower triple, to increase clearance.

Certainly something to pay attention to! Good first post. You may now play here...

no problem with front brake lines on my standard (with carbon front rear fender, so no stays for the brake lines).

this is after 4500 miles on it with this setup, and no brake line rub on forks.

take it back to your dealer and ask them to adjust the brake line alignment so that they do not interfere with the forks. should be a simple adjustment of the mounting bracket under the lower triple clamp.

a presto,
johnc

Yeah, mine was doin the same. Put a long cable tie around both brake lines just below the bottom triple clamp. But don't do it too tight or the brake line will rub on the side of the carbon mudguard.

Never thought of complaining to the dealer, but hey, I'm getting new discs and pads next week under warranty. Had a slight warpage problem. Also number plate support bracket broke, chipped paint off the rear wheel, all being replaced free of charge. Parts due 14th june.

No complaints from me about Brisbane Motorcycles at Windsor.

the license plate support bracket is a factory recall ... at least for early production VIN bikes. have your dealer check to see if your bike is in the VIN range.
