HM S Front Brakes - Noise
While rolling bike backward, e.g., out of garage, and then using the front brakes, a quick clanking/popping sound is heard. It's a short quick non-sustaining noise. It's really difficult to describe a noise!
Is this sound normal?
I'm a newb to big audacious brakes such as this. My tiny front disk brake on my dirt bike doesn't do this so it's a bit odd to me.
450 miles! The HM is an incredible blend of art, performance, and fun. I only wish I had a second one to putt knobbies on and try it on some trails!
TIA for the help and advice.

It is designed to stop going forward Aggie
Hook em Horns
I wouldnt worry about it Dude
I only have 300 miles on mine so far and i am very impressed
I like the way it knifes thru traffic
If i would have had a bike like this in the `70s Kenny Roberts would have never been the King

it's the front brake pads hitting on the caliper housings. this freaked me out the first time i applied the front brakes in same situation as you describe.
nothing to worry about. as soon as you apply the front brakes when moving forward, the pads will shift to the top of the caliper housings ... they move only about 1/32 of an inch.

"stop going forward Aggie" LOL . You must be a rocket scientist! I used to live in Webster! Totaled a boat coming in from Clear Lake (Hwy 3 bridge). About King Kenny--he would have still been King b/c he would have ridden a Duc if these bikes had been around. By the way, up here I Gig'em and Hook'em. We have to be one "nation" when out of State, if you know what I mean.

Great explanation. Wish I had thought of that! Makes me feel like I don't deserve to ride the bike tomorrow.

We are the Texas Hyper Motard nation in here my friend
We be riding high in the wind and entering corners like it was second nature
I am still in shock with the cat quick steering in the corners
This bike is the ultimate street fighter my friends

Mine made noise backing up in gear, engine off. Just the clutch plates without hydraulic damping.

Yup, brake pads clanking against rotor, confirmed it with me own two eyes.
