Neutral between 6th and 5tf gear anyone???
This may sound dumb as sh...t but some times when i ride my bike on the freeway i downshift from 6th into 5th and the bike feels like it goes into neutral! and this is sometimes scary cuz i downshift in order to pass cars or whatever reason and the engine's revs just go all the way up so i have to press down the shifter one more time... Im thinking this might be a tranny problem?? anyone has had the same thing happening?
This is my first ducati and also the first time i have ever had this problem on a bike.

I get falsies goin up clutchless between 5 & 6, put it down to 'ME' not being positive enough, plus wearing different boots has an impact as well. Maybe I should put dat boot on de udder foot, DOH!

I was getting ready to post something to the same effect, only going up the gears - once between 5 & 6 and once between 2 & 3. Pissed my off as I don't like my not-yet-run-in engine bouncing off the rev limiter.
I bought the bike used w/500km on it and it has a STM Evo slipper clutch. The dealer pointed right at the clutch and said STM slippers cause all sorts of problems... other STM users have any issues?

I haven't had a false neutral on this bike yet with about 2600 miles. Remarkable.
I just jinxed myself didn't I?

false neutral
I have the same thing between 5th and 6th gear. It seems pretty random, sometime without clutch and sometimes with. It is very annoying to say the least.

It happens to me every now and then.
It seems like it happens when I'm kin'da dreaming...; not putting enough emphasis on gear changing.
It doesn't seem to relate to a particular gear, but rather to a particular state of mind.

yep, I can hit them between 3-4, 4-5 and 5-6. mostly 3-4 I think, usually if i hit a bump on a gear change my foot does not bang it in right. i have small feet, a shorter shift lever would be nicer and prob solve the prob

I have experienced missed shifts mostly 5-6 in a lazy metal capacity glaring at 3 lane wide interstate traffic that is obviously making me want run the wheels off that red italian 1100cc dirt bike with barbie doll wheels. not a better 2 wheeled machine on the road today for a mx/gncc type rider. What a hoot and perfect fit. every dirtbike guy with a desire for street, there is only one choice. pushing 7500 service, reading about 6800 since September.
