ridiculous insurance again

up for renewal. hyper $986.00 12 months, thruxton $149.00 12 months.
with $762.00 of the hyper cost as collison I don't see how the way the hyper is classified can make much difference. Is this the norm with you guys too?

I have not seen any you tube videos of Triumph Thruxton's doing 5th gear wheelies or backing into turns. I would bet there are a lot more hyper claims for property damage and bodily injury. The hyper is also over 1000cc's which causes a price spike in many insurance companies. I would go with $500 deductable on the hyper and call Geico.

Try 1,500.00 for the year in NYC for the hyper, full coverage and a 250 deductible. You guys seem to have it alot easier in other cites.

Lots of variable in pricing insurance. It seems to me with multiple bikes, they price the new one high and you get a bigger discount on the others. At least that is how it seemed with Progressive. I don't think I am getting as good of a deal as some though since I am clocking in around $1200/yr with the Hyper for 100/50 and a $1K deductible. No tickets or claims. I blame a lot of it on the illegals and other dirt bags running around here with no insurance.

Out!

I pay $600 a year with full coverage. I have no idea why it is so cheap for me with part costs so high. My XR was $300 with the minimum. I'm 22 with 1 ticket and a otherwise clean record, suppose to cut in almost half in november when I reach 6 years of driving. I thought Mass had some of the highest insurance costs in the country.

I just picked up a KTM 950 SM and it added $126/yr to my insurance. I know its not a Duc, but its the same style and costs pretty much the same. I go through USAA and have Homeowners and other auto/motorcycles with them.

Before I bought the Hyper, I was considering the Speed Triple. When I checked the insurance the ST was almost twice as much.
