For those who already use the racing cams/issues??

Hello all, I am a click away in purchasing the racing cams that come with a calibrated ECU. i AM already using a full dual slip on system and ECU but my dealer when i asked his advice about the cams he tried to change my mind.

He supports that in some point in the not very distant future will eventually break down. Especially with the use i am doing with the bike.

I commute every day on the bike and i also use it for small trips during the weekend and it would be really annoying if the bike would let me down...

So for those who have installed the cams already have you faced any issues/break downs or any further advise depending the use i do with the bike?

TIA George

Thumbs up

You should have NO issues, as the cams are designed for the DS1100 engine,

and the cam profiles are VERY smiler, and since we don't have extra

heavy "cam" springs that you usually run with performance cams all the

better, it won't anything but the pocketbook, so RUN them and be HAPPY!! Alex

Cams

I too have the race cams and have had no issues in 2700 miles. The bike is "spirited" and runs perfectly. At 7500 miles I will probably do the heads and pistons.

Except I want more! I wring mine's neck everytime I go out on it. Just went of 5K and 4K was with cams. Runs great.

You will lose some torque but gain on top end HP. I wasn`t happy with the cams for the street but added high comp pistons with head work and all is good now. I was promised in writing that adding the DP cams and having them installed by the dealer wouldn`t void the warranty. Pistons and head work tossed it out the window though. Now the bike feels like a Ducati

I haven't noticed the loss in torque.

I have about 2400 miles with the race cams... so far, so good.
Oh... I did the cams along with the HC pistons and Head porting, mainly to mitigate the torque in low rpm. Some say it's not needed; I guess I will never know if that's true .
