Oil fitler leak
my oil filter has started to leak after 2100 miles of riding. this is the second oil filter i have put on this bike. the first went 3000 miles leak free. i put them on as tight as i can by hand, have always done oil filters this way and never had one leak. it does not seem to be loose at all. i even put a filter wrench on it and gave just a little turn and it still seems to be leaking. anyone ever run into this problem?

Manual states to tighten the filter down to 11 Nm or 8 ft lbs. This is WAY more than hand tight. I just changed my oil and when I was tightening the filter down, it seemed like a lot, but it's not leaking. My friend with a Moto-Guzzi Griso says his manual states 18 Nm. He did less one time and sure enough, it leaked.
Also, the drain plug is 42 Nm which equates to approx 31 ft lbs.
Torque it down my friend and you should be fine.
Cheers

Make sure you thoroughly clean the sealing oil filter sealing surface on the crankcase. A little left over gasket can cause leaks. Also, use a little oil on the gasket of the new filter. I hand tighten the new filter, no leaks. The original filter must have been installed by a gorilla as it was very tight.

Sometimes the WHOLE gasket can get left behind. Check the old filter to make sure the gasket came with it.
