I just got back from my first ride after installing the woodcrafts. Here's my thoughts;
Instructions are not exactly text book examples. However, the install and personalized adjustment only required about an hour. Thats a lot quicker than I had imagined after reading through the install procedure.
Obviously, ground clearance is now a non issue.
I noticed a significant improvement in feel through both the brake and gear levers. I posted earlier about how ineffective my rear brake was. I adjusted the stock lever to where it actually performed something close to acceptable, but the CFM's definitely give me the ability to modulate with some degree of deftness. I can feather or stab the rear with predictable results now.
My OE shifter was glitchy. Finding neutral or first was difficult when warmed and dealing with a stop situation. The action was nowhere near as good as my old 93 900ss...under the best of circumstances. I never messed with this as I knew I would be installing these and I was hoping for an improvement. I got it!
The CFM's yield a nice crisp action and never gave me doubt as to it's ability to do exactly as asked. NICE!
As to comfort, I will preface my comment by saying that I am an average sized guy of 6', 32" inseam and 175 pounds. I have a knee bolted together as a result of an encounter with a pine tree during an enduro race 20+ years back.
My test ride was a 45-mile-at-80ish-%-assault on the local twisties. 4 lane droning did not feature in this mornings ride. However, I was not wearing my leathers and pretty much just sat on the bike My knee did not give me any trouble. I also think the rearward position makes the seat more comfortable as more thigh area is used to support weight.
As always, YMMV.
