1st gear is to short...
I think i need 1 tooth larger on the front sprocket
Does the Hyper come with a 14 tooth sprocket standard?
4th day riding this beast and i think 1 tooth larger is in line
I absolutely love this bike so far

I have tried a few second gear take-offs seems a little hard on the clutch but like you I have thought about going up one tooth on the counter shaft for better cruising on the slab. I am not sure how that will affect the switchback riding though so I have stayed stock for now.

Stock is 15T
15T countershaft sprocket is stock on the Hyper,
You can't go bigger no room, drop thre rear to a 40T Aloha Alex

I think thats the first post I have seen complaining that a Ducati anything 1st gear is too short. Usually its a complaint that they are too tall which I would side with. Ducati's 1st gear is notoriously taller then many other manufactures for whatever reason. I would guess some of it has to do with the tough Euro III emissions.

That's so newbies don't flip the bike backwards.
The 1100 motor is a torque monster!! A light flick of the throttle in first gear gets the front end right up. I have never had a bike that was so easy to wheelie!

It has to do with noise regs, and I agree the bike is overgeared. I'm going to go down a tooth on the front, OP, what kind of roads are you riding on?
