DP Online parts?? + Bar Q + sag Q
Guys,
Looking around for DP parts online from the US or UK as I'm in Aus and we get raped with outrageously expensive parts. (I got quote of over $3000 for slipons here) So looking at abusing your weak $ at the moment I need some reliable and well priced on line stores.
anyone got any recommendations?
Also.. looking at swapping bars to something a. cheaper and b. narrower, I've seen the FLY Racing Aero bars that 'should' fit but never ridden MX before am unsure on the old, rise v sweep thingy.
Also.. what is a good make of handguard / bark buster? The DP ones look slick but I also want to fit some R&G bar end mirrors. are these all compatible?
Also... Has anyone tried 1/3 travel for sag vers the ~30-40mm sag numbers from street bikes. 1/3 should give 55m front and 47mm back. anyone tried either back to back?
Ped

Check us out at www.store.commoto.com - I have a huge inventory and ship to Australia weekly. I use USPS global express which is usually 5 day delivery and is insured and traceable - oh and very affordable!
Check out this thread to see what a couple of your Australian brethren this of the service: http://www.1098-forum.com/forums/sho...033#post140033

I personally think 1/3 sag will be too much in the rear. However, given the long travel of the front it is close to what I came up with.
Out!

Motowheels is also a great place to go for parts - lots of integrity, great service. Or try Ducati Seattle.

I have had a few Aussies ask me to if I would send stuff to OZ. I have found that the USPS has the best rates. Still have to fill out the customs form and I have no idea how to get around that.
So if we send to OZ will customs there inspect the package and assess taxes on it?

Parts coming into OZ do not attract any customs/GST if the combined value of the goods, insurance and shipping is under AUD1000. If the value is over AUD you pay 10% plus a processing fee, which i think is AUD50.

yeah I've heard of a few things about it, I called customs once when i got a $1800 shock shipped over and they said they were not bothered at all on bike parts.
I've also heard you can put warranty replacement on parts and they do not carry the charge as the original should have,
personally I just think putting under $1000 on the value is ok and does the job. I didn't get charged for my shock and that had full value listed i think.
So I'm looking at bars and making things a bit narrower as I clipped 2 cars and a van today busting through traffic, saw that FLY bars have one with a narrow center and is a good price. I've never dealt with bars like this and am looking for something like stock just narrower, what are the rise/sweep values of the stock bars, they look like ~800 wide.
