MONDAY!! 5/26 SoCal meets SoCal

Still nasty up in the mountains above LA so Mike and I are rescheduling our ride for Monday. We hope, truly hope, that you all can reschedule to join us!!

Meeting at the Shell Station at 9:00 am (depart 9:30) on Monday and plan from there as to how far we dare to ride and with some luck we can get to Wrightwood for lunch as we originally planned.

Start posting so we can get a feel for who is in on this rescheduled adventure!!!!

Cheers

Monday sounds good. Where are you meeting for lunch in Wrightwood?

Since it doesn't make sense for me to meet you guys on the other side of the hill (I live in Victorville), we could meet for lunch and I will ride back with you. Then I'll come back with whoever lives on this side, if anybody.

Hi Fred,

Hopefully we'll still get to ride the original route that Mike put together.

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UT...227478&t=h&z=9

Not sure where we are eating but maybe Mike can answer that. Either way, maybe you could hook up with us along the way once we're on that side of the mountain and ride with us to the restaurant. PM me with your cell number and I'll do my best to call you along the route to ensure a meeting place and time.

Cheers,

Todd

There are two restaurants up in wrightwood.
The one with the table outside with umbrellas serves a good breakfast.
I think thats the only one open for breakfast....

BTW
I posted this up on the sport classic side for a ride on Sunday into Ojai.
If anyone is bored and wants to ride it will be quick and easy,

here is the post:

Dave McQueen and I are planning on a ride tomorrow Morning.
This will be Dave's last ride for his visit to Calli.
MoorPark up the 23 to 150 to Ojai and back.
Maybe a little of the 33.
We need to be back around 3pm
my cell is 323 791 9449

If anyone wants to join in we will be at the Starbucks off the 118 on Topanga and Nordhoff to meet mmarsh for a cup. He's working so he can't go on the ride but Dave wants to know if he really exists
then
the Cactus patch Cafe in Moorpark for eats at about 8 and will depart around 9ish for the ride up to ojai. Lunch in ojai or maybe ventura then to ProItalia before 3PM to put the ST3, that Dave has been riding, in to service for some warranty work.

Dave will leave Calli at 5AM Monday.
Wish he could have stayed for the ACH ride on Monday AM with the HyperTard crew.
I will be on that ride Monday AM.

See ya if we're near ya

Cheers
JC

I'm going to take the Husky up ACH this morning, I'll report what I find.

I'm back...... IT'S F'ING COLD AT NEWCOMBS. Road is wet and has snow off to the sides but pretty clear. I think Wrightwood is a bad idea, probably a lot of black ice at that elevation. I'll be at the Shell station by 9:00AM tomorrow and we can decide then.

WEAR WINTER RIDING GEAR AND GLOVE LINERS, it's like the middle of winter up there!

Sounds like J9Fred may try and join us at the Shell station. He can give us a ride report and maybe we can still get to Wrightwood. Dress warn as all I've heard from people is how cold it is up there.

See you all tomorrow!
