Service Cost exposed

I received this e-mail the other day and found it very interesting, Its for the 1098 but how much difference can it be for an oil change and all that. Would like to see the same thing done with the hypermotard. This may be old new to some but just came across it today. Very interesting

Well since all the bike needs at first service is an oil change why take it to the dealer at all? Having them do it is not only costly but will take you a lot more time and is a hassle.

This is, in fact, old news that has been covered extensively on this forum.

Now, it would be interesting for Bikeland to do a 1-year follow up to their original survey just to see if the results have changed.

wow!!! thats so sos true! I paid 180euro for the hyper's first service and thats about (see bellow)

Live rates at 2008.05.23 16:59:36 UTC
180.00 EUR = 284.151 USD
Euro United States Dollars
1 EUR = 1.57862 USD 1 USD = 0.633465 EUR

and for sure a hyper's service cannot exceed a 1098's service. so i v been ripped off...

I think if you don't want to get ripped-off on service (and this goes for cars too)..instead of saying I want the 7500 mile service say I want my belts checked and my oil changed how much do you want to do that?

And that is what I recommend you not doing. Than they can say we need to adjust your valves etc.. (which they might not even do) and you end up spending a ton of money. Find out what is required at each service level and then ask them what it costs for each item.

Take it to Nichols in Milpitas instead! You won't be sorry.
